The Benefits of Juicing

P.R.E.T.T.Y.

FIT for LIFE

I’ve been drinking only juice for eleven days and feel better than I’ve felt in years. Before I accepted this challenge, I read articles, discussed it with my doctor, and listened to the stories of other people who have survived on juice for more than 60 days. My goal is to continue this juicing journey for 30 days. At this point, I can do it despite the rocky start.

I decided to take on this juice challenge to improve my health further. I’m not taking any medications, and since I’ve been juicing, my blood pressure has been consistently normal, my blood glucose has been normal and mainly in the double digits, and I’ve lost 12.5 pounds in eleven days. So far, the stories I’ve read and heard are true. I admit that an all-juice diet is not easy, but it is worth the effort to cleanse your body occasionally. But, you must prepare your body and mind before you begin.

To prepare for the all-juice diet, I completed an herbal detox for a couple of weeks and converted to a raw-food vegan diet. I started eating lots of whole organic fruits and vegetables. Because I was eating clean, the transition to juicing wasn’t as hard as it could have been. The first three days were difficult, but I revived on the fourth day. My energy was higher, and my cravings for solid food dissipated. By day seven, I felt terrific, with more energy and mental clarity than in years.

Some people have voiced concerns about getting enough protein and fiber. The fruits and vegetables I juice are loaded with protein, and I’m drinking enough to meet the daily protein recommendations. As far as fiber is concerned, there are two types of fiber—soluble and insoluble. The soluble fiber is the fiber that remains in the juice, aids in curbing my hunger, and regulates my blood sugar and insulin levels. I use a cold-press juicer, which removes a large portion of the insoluble fiber and only a tiny portion of the soluble fiber. Juicing is healthy and far better than store-bought juices that contain lots of added sugar and high fructose corn syrup, among other unhealthy ingredients. A juice fast is an excellent way to cleanse your body. You may want to try a one to three-day fast if you’re a beginner. Get ready to feel amazing.

If you’re considering juicing, don’t begin any diet or exercise program before you discuss it with your doctor. If you’d like to know more about my juicing journey, send an email to coach@pgf.life.
