Gerry Heath, age 79, passed away October 14, 2016 in Wichita Falls, Texas. Funeral services were held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 18, 2016 at St. Luke Lutheran Church in Olney, Texas, with Rev. Sean Reeves, pastor, officiating. Interment will follow at Restland Cemetery in Olney. Arrangements are under the direction of Lunn Funeral Home of Olney.

Gerry was born on November 13, 1936 in Fort Des Moines, Iowa to the late Clifford Stanley Heath and Zoe Elisabeth (Jones) Heath. He served his country proudly in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He married Laura Thetford on October 6, 1962 in Tilden, Texas and they moved to Olney in 1973 from New Braunfels. Gerry was an active member of St. Luke Lutheran Church and served as Church Treasurer for 30 years. He was also a member of the Lions Club and a member of the elite coffee group that met daily to tell stories. Gerry taught school in Refugio, Texas from 1962 to 1968. He served in the Olney Independent School District as a teacher and I. T. Director from 1973 to 2007. Gerry was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Patricia Heimbach and Peggy Martin.

Gerry is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Laura Heath of Olney; four daughters: Kelly Hemphill and husband Johnny of Joy, Texas, Kathleen Fields and husband Gary of Olney, Texas, Korene Kubala and husband Kelly Joe of Everman, Texas, Kendra Heath and Brett Delk of Ft. Worth, Texas; one son, Jim Heath and wife Lisa of Allen, Texas; ten grandchildren: Dirk Hemphill, Dusti Hemphill, Sarah Heath, Geri Heath, Allen Bigham, Drew Bigham, Kevin Kubala, Hannah Wheeler, Claire Heath, Matthew Heath, and seven great-grandchildren.

Family visitation was on Monday, October 17, 2016 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Lunn Funeral Home.
