On February 23rd, 2024 Jimmie William Pierce Sr. age 87 went to be with our Lord. He was reunited with his wife whom he desperately missed for the last 649 days. Jimmie was born in Crowell, Texas on December 13, 1936, to the late William Granville Pierce and Sylvia Josephine Briscoe. He married Ivalene Bruce on June 11th, 1953, in Knox City Texas. She preceded him in death on May 15th, 2022. Jimmie’s passion in life was to provide well for his family.

Jimmie and his brother Sammy owned Pierce and Pierce trucking company from 1959 to 1980. In 1980, Jimmie moved his family to Megargel, Texas, to work for Megargel Drilling. Three years later, he relocated his family to their permanent residence,” The Farm”, located outside of Olney, Texas where he farmed and owned Pierce Farms Trucking. After retiring, Jimmie spent his time restoring antique tractors with his faithful dog, Penny, always by his side.

Jimmie was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, grandson Jason Scott Pierce, and two sons Jimmie William Pierce Jr. and Joe Bruce Pierce.

His life will be cherished by the many he leaves behind. Two sons, Billy Pierce and his wife Dena of Megargel, and John Pierce of Olney. He also leaves behind two daughters, Twylah Robertson and her husband Andy of Iowa Park, and Misty Pierce and Herb of Olney, as well as a bonus daughter, Gail Culifer of McKinney. Jimmie was blessed with nineteen grandchildren: Jill, Doug, Kristi, Sterlina, Tres, Josh, Katie, Chere, John, Ryan, Cody, Crystal, Jerica, Jaelyn, Savannah, Samantha, Melinda, Dustin, and Julia. Additionally, he had thirty-six great-grandchildren, four great-great grandchildren and leaves behind a brother Sammy Pierce of Benjamin.

Graveside services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Thursday, February 29, 2024, at the Benjamin, TX cemetery. A visitation will be from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 28, 2024, at Smith Family Funeral Home, 210 Ave, A., Knox City, TX 79529.

Memorial donations in lieu of flowers may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
