Waylon Drew West, age 44, passed away Saturday, February 17, 2024, at his home in Olney, Texas. Visitation will be on Wednesday, February 21, 2024, from 5:00 pm to 6:00 p.m. at Lunn Funeral Home in Olney. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, February 22, 2024, in the Chapel of Lunn Funeral Home with Jerry Alcorn officiating. Burial will follow at Restland Cemetery in Olney. Arrangements are under the direction of Lunn Funeral Home of Olney.

Waylon was born on June 23, 1979, in Olney, Texas to Andrew Clyde West and Barbara Sue (Aylor) West. He had a huge passion for 18 wheel trucks and always wanted to be a truck driver. Unfortunately, he wasn’t able to after being diagnosed with epilepsy which changed his whole lifestyle. Waylon was very talented with his work. He built wooden trucks and painted and drew pictures of them for years. He loved spending time with his friends and family. His daughter and his two grandbabies were his world. He will be missed by everyone who knew and loved him.

Waylon was preceded in death by his grandparents: Leroy and Opal Aylor and L.C. and Billie West; his aunt, Peggy Lough along with other aunts and uncles; and his best friend, Gage Firestone.

Waylon is survived by his parents, Andrew and Barbara West of Olney; his daughter, Sydney West and fiancé Jordan Simoens of Watauga; two sisters: Sondria McCoy and husband Jerry of Marshall and Jessica West and husband Charles Fair of Olney; one grandson, Grayson Kincy of Watauga; one granddaughter, Rylee Simoens of Watauga; niece, Whitney Kellar of Olney; nephews: James Dillon Keller of Olney, Zachary West of Olney and Devante Hellams of Wichita Falls.
